I am in the IT Dept. at RTI. Duh. The IT Dept, Facilities, and the HR Dept had lunch together today. HR was thanking us for helping move into their new building. We had one of those team-building sessions after we ate. Everyone wrote a one-word, complimentary description of everyone else on a yellow sticky-note and put it on that person’s back. Here’s what people stuck on my back:
- funny (3 of these)
- amazing!
- cool
- cool hair
- creative
- inclusive
- direct
|
- social
- focus
- infactuous
- Kick Me (2 of these)
- nice
- young
- wild

Went to Sushi Matsuri (next to the Blockbuster on Archer) for dinner with a group of doctors-to-be, one other husband and one wife. I really don’t like sushi. I try to get into it, because it’s supposed to be so hip, but it really does nothing for me. The steak teriyaki was really good though. And the Sapporo. And contrary to what you might think, people who are just about to become the most trusted individuals on the planet (American physicians) can be really funny when you get them high on California rolls, Kirin, and that sick, green, sludgy, spicy stuff that you mix in the little dish and create that strange sauce into which you dunk things that you just know are going to fall from your chopsticks two seconds before they get to your lips …

Speaking of WinAMP … I decided to post my mp3 collection. WinAMP has a nifty function you can use to dump your playlist into an HTML file. This is by no means a very good sampling of my favorite music, but it is what I am stuck with at work. The list in the sidebar is more like what’s in the CD changer at home right now. Maybe if you’re nice I’ll show you what’s in the car right now. I doubt it though.

All month long I’ve been jotting start the Legend on my things to do lists around the house, at work, wherever. The problem is that, although it looks really cool to write start the Legend on your things to do list, I never actually got around to doing it. So for a month the Legend wasn’t started. That’s why I had to give the Legend a jump-start this morning so Sylvia could drive to school. One month is all it took for the Legend’s battery to completely drain. So that’s why I was about ten minutes late to work this morning. It had nothing to do with playing MTV Snowboarding at Chris’ Apartment of Sin from midnight until 2 this morning …

I guess I’m just in a happy crazy scanning mood tonight. I found a photo of me and Sylvia at the Market Street Pub for this St. Patrick’s Day. In the background you can kind of see Ron casting a hex on me.

I’m off to Tampa yet again … I hope living there is much easier than buying a house there is turning out to be. Sylvia and Bhrett arrived safely last night. On the drive home from Orlando they regaled me with stories of monkeys, elephants, hospitals without windows, dust, dirt, cows in the highway, oppressive salesman, and Sylvia’s terrible case of “Delhi Belly” … all this and more when I return …

I’m going to leave soon to pick up Bhrett and Sylvia from Orlando. It’s about a two hour drive. I’ve gotten the house back to respectability, I think. I still need to make the bed, rotate the laundry, finish the dishes, clean the kitchen counters, and vacuum upstairs. I got the desk pretty much organized, which you’ll know is quite an accomplishment if you’ve ever seen the desk. There are a million little things to do … but I’d much rather just take a shower and get in the car and start driving and listening to really loud music …

In the 5-discer right now: Soul Coughing, Alanis, two Sheryl Crow CDs, and Dude Ranch

I scanned an awesome photo of one of my all-time best friends this morning. I cropped it to half-size because it was *huge* on my screen and I’m running 1024 x 768. Someone please tell me if it looks good. I saved it at 50% compression to keep the size down, but I’m not so hip when it comes to graphics, etc. so I’m interested in feedback. I have about a ka-billion photos around the desk here, plus my dad’s always shooting something (with the camera!), and of course the WebCam Go! I bought is supposed to be able to act as a stand-alone digital camera (although I haven’t gotten that to work yet) …

I have a million things to do before Sylvia returns from India tomorrow. There is laundry to do, a kitchen to clean, I need to go to Publix (because being out of toilet paper is not good), I have to move the old washer and dryer out of my mom’s new house and get the older washer and dryer from out of storage because she likes them better (anyone need a washer and dryer?) plus take all the other really big furniture from out of storage to take to her new house (thanks in advance for helping, Chris!), I totally must vacuum upstairs and clean the bathroom and wash the Rodeo and … plus tonight is the Less Than Jake concert at Brick City … I have to tell you that one of the least crazy things that happened last night at Chris’ Apartment of Sin was when Chris and I jumped off the roof of his apartment into the swimming pool at about 4:30 am …
