1.) It does say something about having sex with animals is a sin. Exscuse me Imp Raven, but if you read that link you would understand the the dolpins aren’t molested but give themselves willingly. As long as you respect if the dolphin does not want to show that kind of intamicy yet I don’t think there is anything morally wrong about it. In a case of respecting the dolphin I believe that showing that kind of close bond would be more respectful then not because you would be down to thier level, sort of sharing thier world.
You have the right to not ingage in this sort of activity but don’t just disregard and insult the people who find it interesting. You claim that they have problems when you are clearly the one with the problem. No one complains about you till you start making the first attacks. Well from a biological perspective, Dolphins are essentially what humans would be if we had stayed in the water (Humans spent a breif evolutionary stint in the water, hence our hairlessness and bouyancy) Dolphins are of equal intelligence to humans, they have huge brains, and are mammals.
So what’s the hangup? I’d do it. I’m 19, attractive and have a girlfriend, but I wouldn’t exclude any sentient, hairless mammal with an IQ above 100 from consideration as a mate. Dolphins are just humans in the water.
Anyways, I’m willing to bet that this is like what homosexuals faced 50 years ago: In the future, human/dolphin couples will have to fight discrimination by hateful bigots. I wonder if they’ll live among us somehow. It’d make a great book, anyways.

Your dog has a bran that is roughly the size ofa child’s fist. It is questionable wether dogs are even sentient. The intellecutal and evolutionary gap betwen dogs and humans makes sexual relations between them unacceptable.
However, Dolphins are almost exactly as intelligent, on average, as human beings. Our evolutionary paths were not that different, they just chose to stay in the water, whereas our ancestors spent only a few hundred thousand years in the water before returning to land.
We are equals in every way, and this is why sexual relations between our two kinds is not only acceptable, but even natural.

They have not been around longer than humans. We evolved side by side. At the time that we were slouching, hairy apes, dolphins were some kind of unusually intellligent canine. We both descended from stupid crawling mammlas to elegant, intelligent beings at about the same pace, which is why it is absurd to consider dolphins mere animals, and beneath humans in some way. Hey guys I’m back, on purpose this time, (ref: entry #55), Well I’m now here at ‘Monkey Maya’, I haven’t had a chance to try dolphin luvin yet (always too many people around) but my cousin has promised to take me to a more secluded area where she frequently swims with two particular dolphins. Although she herself has not experienced, nor is interested, in having sex with a dolphin, she was quite open about it and said she could see where the fascination was coming from. Actually we’re not. It was the random alteration (through mutation) of a single “hox” gene that triggered the development of a skull case 300% larger than normal in primates. That single freak mutation is responsible for our intelligence. Anyways the point is that this obviously happened to Dolphins as well at some point in their development. This potential exists in every mammal, but only two stumbled upon it accidentally on their evolutionary journey. In that way we are more like the dolphins that many would be willing to admit.

whether it was a freak mutation of evolution or a purposful act by a superior being, it’s kind of irrelivent to the base point that was made, that due to larger brain size, we share common inteligence, and any animal that has that accident/gift could become a sinteligent over time, though i’m not sure how well that pans out, brain size is not often a clear indigation of inteligence, look at elephatns, for instance….not stupid by a long shot, but not generally viewed as an overly inteligent specie, certianly not on par with humans and dolphins *maybe they are and we don’t know it* same thing for say a rhino, while some small braind creatures are viewd as quite inteligent, such so a cat or somthing.

IQ is highky subjective in humans let alone any other specie in comparison to us, it’s like apples and oranges.
Racoons are incredibly “clever” would I call them “smart”? not particularly, but what do I know, i’ve never been a racoon, least that I remember.
Evolution was disproved? It’ll be reproved by somone eventually and then disproved again etc, it’s all best guess, thats all science AND religion are, is best guess….
The differnce is, and why I choose to respect science, whereas I do not respect religeion, is science is based on somthing…experiements, trial, error, testing a theroy until it holds true or breaks, and science, evolves as we learn new things, discover things, refine our methods, while religion is based entirely on multiple badly translated word of mouth heresay and is not really changed to account for or intergrate new ideas, the official view of a religion is pretty much unchanging, which is why people have faith, cus it’s unchanged, ofcorse individual sections of the religeon update and modify what they need to thats why practically no 2 people of the same religeon completly agree on how to be a good whatever or what the holy book means directly.
Science while you can’t put faith in it as it is always changing, atleast provides the most acurate as of that moment picture of whatever it is shaping, describing or explaining. Often wrong, but science admits to being wrong, while religeon seldom if ever does, and that just pisses me off.
I still dont think inteligence figures much into the equation though as far as interspecie sex….I think it’s a scapegoat to justify the morality of the act, to convince others,possibly as well as the human partner, that it’s ok. I’ve seen videos of pigs horses and dogs having sex with humans, *and other animals outside their specie* on the net and somehow i dont think “hmm that looks like an inteligent creature” crossed their minds, it was more “dude i’m horney i smell somthing BOING! sex time, woohoo.”
What seperartes dolphins though and what stregthens our bond with them is they do not just have sex for release, or procreation….they do it to stengthen relationships, and for fun/pleasure.
Dolphins are pretty inteligent thats been proven with tests, just how inteligent is pretty much impossible to determien in human understandable terms. But their actual inteligence isn’t even really the issue, it’s PERCEIVED inteligence. Dolphins seem very human natured to us and ofcourse anything human natured has to be human inteligent and human reasoning.
Lots fo things cotribute to thsihuman natured view fo dolphins….
1) we’re jeolose as hell and want to play in the ocean all day
2) they “smile” (a byproduct of their jaw sctructure more then anything i think(
3) they seak out human interaction, and anything that likes us we’re so into and like right back.
4) They are very gental and seem tame, even wild dolphins really aren’t agressive twords or try to harm humasn even though they easily could kill us
5) tv shows like flipper
I mean the list goes on,, but you get the general idea.

The whole point in my “incoherent” post was that IQ is just a creation of humans to make the scientists feel better about their lack of any knowledge other than from the books. And, it was very late at night. I dont remember posting half of that, so excuse me for wording poorly (as if you are any better).
I just read animon’s post, and i again agree fully. There is no overpowering evidence of Eve, Evolution, God, or any religion or whatever. It is very late again, as i can only go on late, i never get a chance earlier. By the way, i see nothing wrong with cross-specie sex (unless its rape).

Dolphins are wonderful creatures. I’ve had my share of Dolphin mating’. I work with two male dolphins. no females so they gotta do something. Their very sensual animals and very intelligent.

I think that animal sex of any kind is a wonderful thing. I have had sex with my dogs and I love it.
