I liked the essay,but i am still at loss as How did Hemingway managed to maintain Barnes as narrative who is fluctauting between private and public.Please explain if this is the device?

I definitely enjoyed your essay. However I failed to find any mention of the fact that Robert Cohn was also alienated by the fact that he was the only jewish man in the story. I just wanted to know what your imput was on that, but unfortuantely you didn’t mention it.
