Bookends
One of the glaring signals to me that I’m much older than I think I am is that I can no longer easily distinguish events from my past. I was going to write about something and I realized that I cannot remember if it happened five or ten years ago. The very fact that there is even the slightest chance of me thinking that a decade and a half-decade are not too different is frightening.

A Week in Los Angeles
Good grief! It’s starting to get so bad that I’m getting complaint-mail. “How come you never write anymore?” “Are you too good for your blog?” “Why don’t you post more often?” Jeez. Whine whine. I’ve been busy, okay?! Just because I love you, A Quick Recap of the Lately Life:
- rehearsals for the show are almost done; Wednesday is opening night!
- spent Thursday on the NBC lot taping the pilot for the second season of the daytime version of The Weakest Link
- saw Minority Report - 4 stars
- saw Vanilla Sky - 6 stars (out of 5)
- saw The Fast and the Furius - 1/2 star
- Did you catch Robin Williams Live on HBO last night? I was crying. I couldn’t breathe from the comedic barrage. So much laughing from the Gagne! He kills; Robin does!
- been researching a Verizon phone in the LA area - any comments? anyone?

CD Label Maker
The tagline at the web site for the Acoustica CD Label Maker is, “Software should be easy to use.” Acoustica follows through. Their label maker is the best one on the market right now. I just found it last night and in about one minute I had printed an awesome label, insert, and cover for Paul Simon’s Negotiations and Love Songs: 1971 - 1986. I’ve been looking for a good cd label / booklet printing program for (literally!) years and I’ve finally found one. I highly recommend this piece of software.

Bathroom Master
Probably the most fascinating piece of spam I’ve ever received:
Aupu Bathroom Master combines heating, exhaust fan and illumination all in one to bring you comfort while bath. With either warm wind blow or infrared heat lamp, our bathroom master provides instant and well-distributed heat. Powerful exhaust fan effectively removes steam and fumes. Standard bathroom illumination is thoughtfully included in some models. The Jim-Dandy series is newly designed with anion function to improve air quality in your bathroom.

1st Burial Funeral Insurance
Mock funerals are another practice that happen more often than you would imagine. This is where a service is held for family and friends and then when it’s over the cemetery buries the casket wherever it wants. Horrific, but it does happen. Make sure you receive everything in writing and appoint someone to check if it has all been carried out correctly.

FormPilot
Having to complete a form that you know was designed for a typewriter is tragically annoying. If you are a person like me - someone who never rarely colors outside of the lines - any “form” that has a one inch line for your last name or street address is enough to send you into a penmanshiplean rage. So software that proposes it can convert a 20th century form into one that can be managed by your computer would seem like a nifty idea. If you are the smarty-pants who wrote the Form Pilot software, though, take heed. Listen to me. Trust me on this one:
Sales will increase if you ditch the youthful Montgomery Burns as your spokesperson!
