During my morning commute lately I’ve been eschewing NPR one day each week and instead listening to Pre-Recorded Late Night, an improvised comedy podcast with “fake” guests. It’s sort of like The Daily Show, except it’s entirely improvisational. Imagine a typical late night talk show … there’s a desk, a couch, a host and a [...]

With the exception of NPR, I no longer listen to the radio. It might be more accurate to say that there simply is no more FM radio, because here in Los Angeles — where it seems every station claims to have 20, 30, 40, or 50-minute “rock blocks” — I invariably hear nothing but 8, [...]

There is a secret to creating killer Smart Playlists in iTunes. You have to know what not to play. The best way to do that is with an “ignore list”. And I’m going to show you how to make one. For several years now iTunes has given you the ability to use playlists themselves as [...]

Doh! I tossed an airball this morning. I was listening to The Tony Kornheiser Show on ESPN radio on my way to work. Tony was asking if one of the actors from the old TV show Gunsmoke was still alive. I remembered that one of my previous bosses, Kelly, created a site where you could [...]

I listened to ESPN radio for about a half-hour around lunch today. The guest was the Rams’ D’Marco Farr. He spoke very eloquently. In case you’re wondering … D’Marco Farr is a complete moron.
