Barry Manilow

April 25th, 2002 @ 12:04 pm PDT

I drove over the hill and down into West Hollywood yesterday for an interview. At some point during my trip I topped 10,000 miles on my truck. After the interview I met my girlfriend at the Olive Garden and then we booked to the Kodak Theater. Our friends, Michael and Deanna, got us tickets to the taping of Barry Manilow’s concert. (He’s on tour promoting his new CD and his most recent greatest hits CD.) I had a great time. I’d never seen Barry live so it was quite a treat. He played a bunch of classics and it was cool because, since they were taping it, he kept stopping between takes to tell stories about the songs and ad lib. Our ticketed seats were up in the mezzanine but there weren’t enough people on the floor so we got to be seat fillers closer to the stage.
I highly doubt we got on camera, but you can catch the show on CBS next month.

Barry is going to “retire” from the music business just to stay home & relax, as his *new* life will be centered around some flakey woman who takes advantages of him & uses him yet he falls for it hook, line, & sinker – this broad certainly knows how to work him! He’s making a big mistake by quitting his career! He’s gonna end up bankrupt sooner or later in the near future, if he doesn’t continue making more albums!!(He’ll regret this “plan” of his, since he’s going to close a long-time, lifetime chapter of his major life) This is almost as worse than reading an obit in the celeb news column. All his fans might as well bid farewell to him, as his fans will probably no longer see him in the spotlight anymore. He shouldn’t slam the doors in his fans face like this, after all the years of his fans dedicating their love, admiration, & appreciation over him. That ain’t right, but will see just how long his *new* life will turn out. It’s just so out of character for this man to “give-up”, especially when it comes to music & his career.

I think Barry Manilow is the Bomb, he is the best proformer there is as far as I am concerned! I have a very good feeling that there is going to be wedding bells ringing for Mr. Manilow in the very near future! If he does get married the woman he marries will not let him retire from his music. She knows that is one love of his life and she would never take that away from him! She will also be a very important part of his life. Her love will give him a new look at life.
