In which I present The Point

This post is part of the Song of the Moment collection. For several years when I started blogging, I would occasionally post an obfuscated mp3 file for visitors to download without letting them know what the song was. The filename was always simply song.mp3 so when I posted a new one, the previous #sotm would be overwritten.

My Song of the Moment blog is usually pretty random. I just post whatever song happens to be floating through my hard drive whenever I remember to update it. Starting today, though, there is a little order over there. I’m going to tell you a story.

It’s one of my favorite stories.

I’m going to tell it to you one song at a time.

There are fourteen songs. The first one is there now. It will only be there until I post the second song, so if you want to follow the story, I suggest you start a’downloading now.

I'll never share your email address and it won't be published.

What Is This? is the personal weblog of me, David Vincent Gagne. I've been publishing here since 1999, which makes this one of the oldest continuously-updated websites on the Internet.

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
