cool caseIf you got a black 60gb video iPod for Christmas — like I did — then you need to get one of Agent18‘s video-shields. I’ve tried quite a few iPod cases in the last two or three years and this one is the best yet. It certainly has the best screen protection. You kind of get the feeling that it’s not a very good shock absorber, but I’m not one for often dropping or banging my iPod. If you bang yours around, you’re probably better off getting the silicone one from Xtrememac. (Forget the ones from Speck. Theirs are cursed by poor design.)

Xtrememac, by the way, also makes the best iPod FM transmitter.

  1. Update: I tossed my briefcase in the trunk of my car and — because I was running late and upset about it — slammed the lid of the trunk closed. My iPod slipped out of my hand, got banged by the trunk lid, and crashed to the asphalt under my car. The Agent18 iPod shield protected it beautifully.

  2. Hello,
What do I have to do, to make an audiobook file appear on the audiobook folder on my iPod?
I didn't get it how does it work.
Is there a special extension for audiobooks, because I've tried to convert to ACC (tutorial on this forum) but it didn't work.
    Please, help me.

  3. Hi everyone.
What's a good alternative to the IPOD?
I'm wondering if any of you can recommend a good MP3 player that is comparable to the IPod but WITHOUT they hype and price tabe to go with it.
I was at the apple store a few days ago, and really liked the new 40GB or 80GB IPods that also show video, but was wondering if I could get the same kind of funcationality without that heftly price tag.

What Is This? is the personal weblog of me, David Vincent Gagne. I've been publishing here since 1999, which makes this one of the oldest continuously-updated websites on the Internet.

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
