  1. I have had a voicecrush on Corey Flintoff for years.

  2. I like Sonali Kolhatkar from KPFK.

  3. 1. Jackie Lyden
    2. Jamie Tarabay. Love, LOVE her Aussie drawl. Sure helps all that horrible Iraq news go down easier.

  4. /Great/ topic, I often remark to my friends how unusual NPR names tend to be.

    I’ll add:

    * Felix Contreras
    * Lourdes Garcia-Navarro
    * Ina Jaffe
    * Lakshmi Singh

    The one that takes the cake, though, is:

    * Doualy Xaykaothao

  5. WTF? No Daniel Schorr?

  6. Seriously…how did this list get made without Ira Flatow? Do you even listen to NPR Science Fridays?

    It goes without saying, but…

    I don’t even know you anymore.

  7. 8 names, 6 comments and no mention of Shirley Jihad

  8. My girlfriend and I had this conversation recently! But man, how can you leave out Snigdha Prakash??!

    I also second Lakshmi Singh.

    great stuff.

    Terri.

    GROSS.

  11. Ofabea Quist-Arcton isn’t mentioned?!?

  12. I like:

    Joanne Silberner
    Frank Langfitt &

  13. Shirley Jihad. Jihad? What are you doing? Keping us frightened…..?

  14. I’ve been wondering about Shirley JIHAD for the longest time.
    Do you think she is…?

    What? Muslim? Are you afraid? Because the big bad Muslims are infiltrating ‘American’ radio! Grab your children and run, the MUSLIMS are coming!!

    If you really listened to NPR you’d have learned a thing or two about Islam by now. Namely that not all Muslims are terrorists.

    Clearly. Some of them are 2nd-rate NPR reporters. 2 things:

    1) How could you possibly post something like that in a forum that is *CLEARLY* meant to be fun and funny? If you ever get your head out of your a$$, you should come up for air once in a while.

    2) Tolerance and understanding don’t come from public radio broadcasts. They stem from years of meaningful debate and dialogue, not just some 10 minute blurb on Islamic ‘enlightenment’. Here’s something to get you started on a road slightly more profound and satisfying, if only slightly less self-congratulatory.

    Also, Ira Flatow is still my choice.

  17. @Gilberator I think it was the full moon. I got a ton of **** yesterday for something I posted as a joke (bad lame joke) on twitter. Besides being a completely tongue-in-cheek comment in which neither of us were remotely serious, isn’t this blog post like 3 years old?!?!
