#FridayFive: Quick Bites

My mom used to love to tell the story of how – when I was a toddler – she left me alone for just five minutes and when she returned I had stuffed an entire little red box of Sun-Maid Raisins up my nose. She rushed me to the hospital and they needed to use tweezers to extract all of them.

She also used to love to tell anyone that would listen that the only snacks my sister and I ever had were apples, bananas, and grapes and we didn’t even know what junk food was until I got to elementary school. I do love chocolate and potato chips and all those unhealthy things, but it’s been a long time since my metabolism was nuclear enough to consume them regularly. Nowadays I usually eat the way mom always hoped I would.

Here are my favorite go-to quick snack items, ranked:

  1. almonds
  2. raisins
  3. cashews
  4. apples
  5. pretzel sticks

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
