#FridayFive: Gilligan’s Island Castaways, Ranked

My little sister and I spent a solid five years during elementary school during which our afternoons were spent stationed in front of my grandparents’ television set watching cartoons and re-runs. Barney Miller, M*A*S*H, Diff’rent Strokes, Superfriends, and Scooby Doo were in heavy rotation. And – every now and then, though it felt like blasphemy to us because we were Star Wars fans – Star Trek. One of my favorites was always Gilligan’s Island.

I remember getting so upset one time when Gilligan (once again) screwed them all out of a chance at rescue that I refused to watch the show for weeks. I loved the coconut gadgets the Professor was always making and tried to memorize how they were built in case I ever found myself marooned. My lifelong disdain for the ignorant rich likely stems from the Howells.

My favorite characters from the show:

  1. Ginger
  2. The Professor
  3. Mary Ann
  4. The Skipper
  5. Gilligan

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
