In which he discovers a simple recipe for making delicious bread

The 5-Minute Baguette

I’m not certain where1 or when I originally found this recipe for how to make a 5-minute baguette2, but I’ve been meaning to post about it for months. It is exactly as simple as the title implies. I have made four loaves of bread this way several times now and they really do come out great. It’s a little silly because I can buy a fresh baguette at the grocery store for $1.99, of course. But it’s fun to make things on your own and the boys are always begrudgingly impressed any time dad bakes something.

1 My guess is that it was in Laura Olin’s wonderful newsletter, which I highly recommend.

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
