Razors
<begin rant>
Faces beware! I couldn’t find a true link to the evil razors, but this page describes the full Gillette product line. Watch out for the newest edition of the Custom Plus 10-pack of UltraGrip ™ Custom Blades ™. The LubraStrip ™ doesn’t lube anything. These things are horrible! I don’t know if I just got addicted to the Mach 3 or what, but when I tried to save a few bucks and go with this multipack of disposables I definitely made a poor decision. Razor burn? Absolutely. The blades didn’t shave my stubble; they ripped the hairs from my chinny-chin-chin. Ouch! I look like I lost a fight with a weed-whacker. Trust me on this one: Stick with the Sensor, Sensor Excel, or Mach 3.

Oakley
The day before the world changed I mentioned a little battle waging between Oakley and Sunglass Hut. It seems that Oakley feels that they are getting the short end of the distribution stick by the super-sunglass-store. I thought that the tirade on their site was kind of a tough tactic, but that’s not all they’re doing. I just saw an ad in Maxim magazine for these killer shades and noticed a skull and crossbones emblem at the bottom with the tag line, “Not Available at Sunglass Hut”.
Yikes! Talk about guerilla marketing …

Pens
I have to see if there’s a way to add this pen to my Christmas wishlist. I love cool pens. There are dozens of really awesome ones at Levenger. If you love pens as much as I do, check out the Fisher Bullet Space Pen. It fits in your pocket (and anywhere else!) and is one of my favorites.

ESPN
You can find a ton of cool Gator merchandise at the Teamstore@ESPN.com. They should reconsider their “You May Also Like” section, though. It currently matches your selection geographically and that just doesn’t make sense. I don’t think many Florida fans are going to be interested in FSU or Miami gear!
Also check out the current contests at ESPN for chances to win a spot on GameDay, tickets to the Rose Bowl, and other great prizes.

USRowing
The USRowing web site is essentially the same as it was five years ago. It’s incredible that this is the organization that basically runs the sport of crew in the United States and they haven’t bothered to make the most simple of upgrades. There must be thousands of rowers who are also computer geeks. Their product / merchandise page, just as it was five years ago, is so bug-ridden that you cannot possibly purchase anything. It’s terrific that the grey sweatshirt that I love is on sale for only $22.50, but since web users don’t have cgi permissions on the server, there’s no way to add one to your “cart”. C’mon, guys! Somebody over there really needs to move into at least the late-90s. When I traded in the Isuzu Rodeo for my Nissan Frontier I forgot to remove my spiffy USRowing license plate frame. I’d love to buy a new one (Only $6.00!) but they apparently only want to pretend to sell things …

Oakley
It seems that Oakley is now at war with the Sunglass Hut. On their web site they’ve posted an impassioned plea asking consumers to not purchase shades at the retail chain. I really like Oakley, but I have to ask: Why the heck don’t they sell their product on-line? I would think that their target market is full of websurfers. Why would a company choose to strictly do business off-line?

Soft As A Grape
I bought a soopah comfy blue hooded sweatshirt here this weekend and they threw in a hat for free! (I’m wearing it on the web cam right now.) The entire store smelled like grape Bubbilicious. How can you not buy something from a store that overwhelms you with grape flavor?

Fare Wars
Yesterday Leia told us that American Airlines had a big 24-Hour sale at Yahoo!Travel. Starting today Northwest Airlines is having a 48-Hour sale at Orbitz. Maybe on Saturday Delta will have a 72-hour sale at Priceline.com. Or something.
