For some reason I have an irrational distaste for tablespoons. I don’t know why this is the case. They just seem too big to me, and there’s something pretentious about them. (Who needs to put that much of anything in his mouth all at once?) I’m a teaspoon man and probably always will be.
I think I will stab myself in the stomach with a fork if one more person sends me a stray chicken or cat or whatever it is that people keep sending me; but it’s worth reading this seriously fascinating psychological analysis of why people play that annoying game.
I can’t stand when people say, “I could care less.”
“I could care less,” is one of those little things that drives me absolutely batshit crazy. If you could care less, it means you care. That’s not what you mean when you say that, is it? What you mean is that you don’t care. Someone posted this handy little graphic in a discussion forum and it really helps. (Click it to see!) Do you get it now?
My little sister is recording the event while mountain climbing somewhere in Oregon, so she asked me not to SMS her any information about the SEC Championship Game. Intentionally planning something of any importance — a mountain expedition, a wedding, bachelor party, childbirth, etc. — on a Saturday in the late Fall (or early Winter) is mind-boggling to me. My uncle — whose wife’s birthday is today, actually — got married on the day of the Super Bowl. (It was even worse that his favorite team was the AFC champion that year.) Priorities, people.
Eating 100 Treadmills
With my special training program, anyone can eat 100 treadmills in 7 weeks.
Postings will be sparse for the next few days. I’m in Vegas with my dad. We golfed today and will be golfing again tomorrow… and the next day… and the next day… This is my third or fourth trip to Las Vegas since I moved to LA in 2000. I’m not much of a gambler, but I think I have finally deciphered the game of craps. I turned $20 into $225 and had a blast hanging out with my dad at the new Hooters Casino. I’m taking a ton of photos and will update when I return to the City of Angels.
So I took a stab at creating a header image. I used that crazy haettenschweiler font. I wanted to use the American Idiot font, but I could only find cheesy imitations and not “the real thing” in my five-minute Google hunt for it. This is actually the first time there’s ever been a header image on davidgagne.net — amazing when you consider this site’s been chugging along for over five years now. I just got an email and a gift certificate from dreamhost to congratulate me on my four-year anniversary with them.
Wow! Alltheweb.com is a great ego-searcher…
Am I way behind the rest of the bus by just now finding this? I’ve been way out of touch with Bloggerville lately.
