How to Display RSS Feeds Using PHP

How to Display RSS Feeds Using PHP December 6th, 2006 @ 6:32 pm PST

If you’re interested in displaying an RSS feed from an external source using PHP, you simply must grab RSS_Fetch by Drew Phillips. It is by far the easiest implementation that I have found. The readme file is very detailed and the code is well-documented. I highly recommend it.

Los Angeles

Contextless Content: Episode #21 December 6th, 2006 @ 1:58 pm PST

Contextless Content: A portion of a conversation, usually from an instant messenger platform. Josh says: if me and you were in a dark alley in Compton or a haunted mansion and you said, hey this is pretty scary, let’s split up. I would say, I have a better idea, no David says: 1. I would […]

Gator Attacks Naked Man On Crack

Gator Attacks Naked Man On Crack December 1st, 2006 @ 9:34 am PST

Now that is an awesome headline! As my friend Kelly, who sent me the link, said, “Only in Florida …” This is one hell of a story to read. You can file this one as “Reason #419 Not to Get High on Crack and Fall Asleep Next to a Lake in Central Florida”. I love […]

Von Cotton November 30th, 2006 @ 6:57 am PST

Last night Tricia and I saw Von Cotton perform at Molly Malone’s. They are an awesome new country act playing in Los Angeles. We saw them the first time at some dive honky-tonk just south of Marina Del Rey a year or so ago. Back then they mostly were doing classic country covers. Now they’ve […]

The Best Bond Ever

The Best Bond Ever November 27th, 2006 @ 7:29 pm PST

Let me say one thing: I was fully prepared to be disappointed by Casino Royale. I haven’t seriously enjoyed a 007 movie since the Roger Moore days. I thought Pierce Brosnan was going to be the perfect Bond; he’s a terrific actor and I’ve loved him in everything else he’s done. I think he was […]

No Champagne for Shula and the Boys

No Champagne for Shula and the Boys November 22nd, 2006 @ 6:03 pm PST

And so another childhood belief is disproved. I had always liked the oft-told tale of the surviving members of the ’72 Dolphins sending a case of champagne to the team that beats the last unbeaten NFL team each season. Apparently it’s simply another urban legend. I followed a link from Pop Culture Junk Mail to […]

Golfing in Arizona

Golfing in Arizona November 21st, 2006 @ 7:59 pm PST

I have hundreds of photos of other people golfing, but I’m always the one with the camera. That means I don’t usually get too many shots of myself. My dad took this one and I think it’s pretty good. If you view the full size version by clicking the photo you can just make out […]
